Booths Carpets and Furnishings have been selling carpets and flooring in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, for over 50 years.

First established in the city centre in 1963 by Mr Gerry Booth, the business originally sold floor covering and was known as ‘G Booth Floor Coverings’. We were a small, but successful, business providing made to measure flooring solutions, before going on to specialise in beds and mattresses, then known as ‘Gerry Booths Carpet & Bed Barn’.

With the addition of Robert Booth and Jacqui Richards in 1984, Gerry Booth’s son and daughter, business developed fast and we moved to larger premises. This was around the time that we introduced soft furnishings, made to measure curtains and blinds and furniture. We were then known as Booths Carpets & Furnishings, offering a comprehensive range of products, covering all aspects of domestic home décor, plus a thriving contract flooring department running alongside this.

Over the next 20 years, we developed into a well-respected business within the centre of Wakefield, known for friendly service and good quality products. This has helped to build up an endless amount of dedicated customers, who still visit us today.

We are still based in the centre of Wakefield, in smaller premises, and have celebrated over 50 years of business. The Booths family still run the store and we are now into our third generation, with the addition of Harriet Booth, Robert’s daughter, in 2009.

Harriet heads up our exciting new interior design service, which is available to all customers and combines our services into a managed project. Our aim is to help customers to create new schemes for their home and pick out the best furniture and furnishings, from paint colours to flooring type.

We are delighted to say that we still deliver the same friendly service today, and spend each successful year striving to improve and develop.
