As a global supplier and as the UK’s largest independent producer of domestic flooring textiles, the Phoenox name is something held in a high regard. Alongside manufacturing private-label products for a number of well-established brands, Phoenix Textiles also designs and develops a client portfolio that is home to consumer-facing names.
The business was founded in 1954 by Jack Mosley, a local weaver.
His early work focused on producing fabrics for bus seats and hearth rugs, crafted in locally-sourced wool alongside acrylic and cotton from Lancashire. More than 70 years on, Phoenox Textiles continues to manufacture from two facilities in Scissett, near Huddersfield.
Today, the company remains family-run and is led by third-generation members Adrian, Charles and Liz Mosley, with the fourth generation now beginning to play an active role. From an original team of just 10 employees, Phoenox has grown to employ over 200 people across its two sites and still continues to build on its longstanding success.
