Lionvest Trading (UK) Ltd is now one of the largest independent and trusted agents, importers and distributors of wood products. Since trading began in 1997, the company has expanded the Lionvest brand, launched innovative product lines and established itself as a leader within the industry. When operations began, the business focused on the importing side of the trade and acted as an agent for plywood.
As part of the Lionvest global organisation, the company went on to diversify into areas such as flooring and garden furniture.
It achieved mixed results in these early ventures.
By the early 2000s, the organisation had more than doubled in size, and it rose to a leading position in the wood flooring market. Its range of solid products and exclusive collections helped to set the benchmark and within six years, the team had outgrown their original offices. To support continued progress, the company relocated and reshaped its services and, of course, its core product offerings.
The addition of Lalegno in 2015 strengthened the Lionvest portfolio even further. This Belgian brand quickly gained traction in the UK and is now regarded as one of the most respected names in the global market. Alongside 1,500 pallets stored at its Southampton facility, the company has access to a further 3,200 pallets in Belgium.
Despite major achievements in the flooring sector, Lionvest remained mindful of its origins. The team returned to the plywood category and developed FG1, a pioneering product that can not only meet, but surpass, British Standards for flooring-grade plywood. Innovation has continued across all areas, including the introduction of rigid vinyl planks which represent the next evolution in vinyl flooring.
These were followed by complementary herringbone and tile formats.
