Carpet Trends

Brintons has become synonymous with the highest quality wool-rich carpets, which have been designed and manufactured in Kidderminster, in the heart of the Midlands, since the 18th Century. The luxurious texture of their famous 80% wool/20% nylon blend coupled with one of this season’s key trends will make your customers want to sink their toes into their very own Brintons carpet.

Here Brintons design team talks about some of the recent trends they have seen emerging:

Petals are on point

Recent fashion collections have heavily featured dried, pressed and even fresh flowers. Designers such as Christopher Kane, Fendi and Simone Rocha embraced the trend for florals and we have seen these patterns grow in popularity for interiors too. Pared back designs with all manner of florals, birds, and butterflies have been showcased heavily in residential interiors over the last year. Pattern and colour have resurged as homeowners look to create a statement in their living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. Using larger scale and the avoidance of symmetry, the gentle meandering sprawl of carpets like the Timorous Beasties Ruskin Butterfly, with its delicate organic background texture, favours balance through composition to create a completely individual interior. The décor can simply pick out a few key highlights so as not to detract from the stunning floor.

Neutral Tones

Plain carpets in neutral tones have been popular for a long time now as they give you the chance to accessorize with accent colours or patterns more regularly.

Brintons most popular carpet; Bell Twist, has been in production for over 50 years. The stylish, textured surface makes these carpets exceptionally hardwearing in high traffic areas without compromising on luxury. Lovingly created, the colour palette is inspired by the world around us and regularly updated to reflect changing trends. Our newest Bell Twist colours (Launching February 2017) capture the serene beauty of nature’s neutral palette by using pale tints such as Cotton right across to a striking shade of Slate. These organic tones were chosen specifically to complement contemporary lighting as this has changed how we see colour in our homes. Halogen and low energy lighting creates a fresher, crisper style which is less sympathetic to more traditional hues. Grey carpets look fantastic in these modern settings as either an accent colour or backdrop.

Available in over 60 colours, the Bell Twist range is perfect for creating a stylish and cohesive look throughout the home. Flooring co-ordination is really simple too – many of the colours featured in the plain carpet ranges are also used in our patterns too meaning that it’s easy to encourage extra sales by offering a harmonious flow from one room to the next.

Craft Revival

We’ve also seen a revival for classic patterns and prints, celebrating grander eras of the past. Trends in interiors, like fashion, tend to repeat themselves and creating these ornamental designs for carpet continues. More traditional patterns such as the Renaissance Classic Khali Fire can still make a strong statement against a backdrop of simple design and elegant accessories. Inspired by the golden age of Persian art and literature this carpet uses rich and opulent colours to stunning effect. The classic design suits a period property or could contrast really well within a more modern space. Exceptionally hard-wearing and versatile with a timeless aesthetic they make the perfect recommendation for any room.
